Two arrested in Monday meth bust by Greene County Drug Task Force

When a Linton man accused of dealing methamphetamine appeared in court Thursday afternoon, his bond was set at $70,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He had been under investigation by the Greene County Drug Task Force and was arrested when they served a search warrant on a residence in Linton.  A woman who was present when the warrant was executed was also arrested.

Suspicious behavior led a deputy to stop at a residence in Lyons last week to inquire about a man wanted in two counties.  The man was found hiding in a closet and arrested. So were three other people after evidence of marijuana use in plain view resulted in a search warrant.

Four people stick hands out car windows to “give up” to trooper

When the driver of a stolen vehicle fled from an ISP trooper, the chase was on. Heading north on 67 from Switz City last Wednesday morning, speeds reached 115 mph. When it ended north of the flasher south of Worthington, the lone trooper held the driver on the ground and three passengers in the vehicle until other officers arrived.

Wanted man in custody

After getting a deal then asking for a delay before he had to turn himself in to serve time last month, a man convicted of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon in an incident of gunfire in Linton last year, didn’t show up as promised. A warrant was issued but his whereabouts were unknown. Now’s he behind bars serving his time.

This week is designated as National Police Week 2019 and Wednesday, May 15, is National Peace Officers Memorial Day. On Wednesday, flags are to be flown at half staff in honor of the nation’s law enforcement officers who have lost their life in the line of duty. In Indiana, flags will already be at half staff until sunset on Wednesday in honor of Senator Lugar.
