Charges are pending against a Worthington man who was arrested by a Bloomfield officer early this morning while officers, deputies, an ambulance and a fire department were all responding to a false emergency call to 911.

Ryan Wayne Botkin, 39, was taken into custody by Officer Ryan Montgomery of the Bloomfield Police Department. Botkin’s home address, according to jail records, is in Worthington.

Officer Montgomery, the investigating officer, responded very early Wednesday to a location on South Seminary Street in Bloomfield for an emergency 911 call that turned out to be false.

During the course of investigating this call on the scene, Montgomery determined there was a valid protective order in effect that was issued to Botkin and he was in the company of the protected person so Botkin was arrested.

Botkin was booked into the Greene County Jail around 4:07 a.m. this morning, Wednesday, May 15.

As of this morning, Botkin was being held without bond on preliminary charges of invasion of privacy, a Class A misdemeanor, and false informing, a Class B misdemeanor.

These charges could change and they may not be all Botkin is facing. According to information released by the Bloomfield Police Department, other criminal charges could be filed against Botkin – pending review by the Greene County Prosecutor.

Besides Officer Montgomery and the Bloomfield Police Department responding to the false 911 call, personnel from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the Bloomfield Fire Department and the Greene County Ambulance Service all responded to the scene.
