A Greene County man considered a serious violent felon, allegedly carrying a firearm in each hand, was spotted at a firearms show by a firearms collector who happened to be GCSD detective. The suspect was arrested Monday and is now facing new criminal charges – serious violent felons are not allowed to possess guns.

A Statewide Silver Alert has been declared.

The Ellettsville Police Department is investigating the disappearance of Rhea J. Weaver, a 70 year old white female, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 159 pounds, brown hair with brown eyes, last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, jeans, may be wearing glasses, and driving a white 2009 Honda CRV 4 door SUV with Indiana plate 908VAU.

Rhea is missing from Bloomington, Indiana which is 56 miles southwest of Indianapolis and was last seen on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 12:00 pm.  She is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.

Suspected meth dealer leads ISP trooper in pursuit; Deputies from three counties assist

When Indiana State Police troopers investigating a man suspected of dealing methamphetamine located him near the Greene County Chapel yesterday afternoon, the man fled, starting a pursuit through Greene County then Owen County to the Monroe County line. When the suspect was apprehended in a field off McVille Road, he allegedly had approximately 130 grams of meth in his possession, and a lot of cash.
