Sullivan County — December 8, 2020, will mark the eight-year anniversary of the unsolved homicide of 85-year-old Lowell R. Badger of rural Sullivan County. The retired farmer was found deceased at his rural Sullivan County home. The homicide is believed to have occurred sometime between Friday, December 7th, 8:00 p.m. and 9:23 a.m. on Saturday, December 8th, 2012.

The lives of a Linton couple with three young children were turned upside down in August. As a result of a tragic hit-and-run crash, Heather Reeves remains in intensive care in an Indianapolis hospital where she’s making progress but has been given a zero-chance of ever walking again. Her husband, Aaron Evans, seriously injured but now released from a Terre Haute hospital, is still recovering from his injuries. Now, a cousin and other family members, friends and the community are coming together to host a benefit this Sunday to help the couple put their lives back in order.

A Hymera man arrested last Thursday night on a drug charge was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle. He’s in jail on a $39,000 cash-only bond. In an unrelated case, during an investigation into a shooting that occurred in Hymera a week earlier, a male witness said the man owned the trailer next door and had a surveillance system with a camera facing the scene.

Attempted murder suspect in custody after being detained by Jasonville residents

Dustin Turley, 33, Jasonville, is in custody. Turley was wanted for attempted murder following a shooting incident that occurred in Hymera late Friday night. Turley apparently arrived in Jasonville this afternoon, Sunday, August 2, where he was detained by local residents who contacted the Greene County Sheriff’s Department. Turley has been booked into the Sullivan County Jail where his bond is set at $50,000 cash only.

A Jasonville man, Trenton Keller, 33, was shot multiple times in Hymera late Friday night and the suspect, another Jasonville man, Dustin Turley, 33, is wanted for attempted murder. Turley is on the run. Keller was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital. Warrants were issued in Greene County Friday for a rural Linton couple believed to be dealing methamphetamine in large quantities to a large number of people in Greene and other counties. As a result of an ongoing investigation by the Greene County Drug Task Force, the two were taken into custody last week on US 41 in Sullivan County, allegedly transporting around four pounds of meth from out-of-state back to Greene County.
