While most people were staying home on a snowy night, avoiding slick roads, one JPD officer and a couple of GCSD deputies were busy chasing down a woman who allegedly was driving drunk and stole two trucks Monday night. She said she was trying to get to Bloomfield. She made it, when she got a ride to jail.

INDIANAPOLIS — Governor Eric J. Holcomb today announced the results of the increased school bus safety patrols that were conducted last fall by Indiana law enforcement agencies. During the two-month mobilization, officers issued a total of 1,553 warnings and 1,701 citations. Of those, 201 were for stop-arm violations.

GCSD arrests men accused of multiple burglaries

Two men suspected in multiple burglaries were busted on Saturday after deputies followed tracks through the snow. In initial interviews, both suspects blamed the other one. Deputies recovered a significant number of valuable items for victims, but one gun safe was found in a creek. The investigation is ongoing. GCSD is asking anyone who may have been the victim of a recent burglary to contact the sheriff’s department.

A Linton man is doing some jail time after admitting his guilt in two cases of theft. He was accused of accepting items to be sold at auction then not paying the owners and not returning the items. He was sentenced in Greene Superior Court yesterday morning then booked into jail.
