When a deputy attempted to stop a driver last November, suspected of being intoxicated, on SR 157 near Worthington, the driver fled toward Bloomfield. Stop sticks were deployed. The driver crashed his vehicle and was injured. After results of a toxicology test came back, a warrant was issued for the driver’s arrest.

Daviess County – February 8, 2021, at approximately 4:45 PM, the Indiana State Police were asked to investigate a fatal crash after two vehicles collided on I-69 at the 83-mile marker southbound in Daviess County. One driver was killed. The other driver was arrested - tests showed he had methamphetamine in his blood.

ISP Investigation: Covered Bridge closed due to fire investigation

Greene County - On Sunday, February 7, 2021, Indiana State Police Senior Trooper Daniel Crozier responded to the Plummer Creek Covered Bridge in the area of S. Baseline Road and County Road 25 West in Bloomfield.

The investigation began after Taylor Township Fire Department responded to extinguish a fire that caused damage to the bridge which is also known as the A.M. Kennedy & Sons Covered Bridge.

The structure is currently closed and the public is asked to seek alternate routes until it can be determined that it is structurally capable of handling traffic.

S/Trp. Crozier is being assisted by the Indiana State Fire Marshals and the incident is still under investigation.

Firefighters respond to Sunday morning fire on the covered bridge

A fire was set on the covered bridge south of Bloomfield Sunday morning, and Taylor Township firefighters responded in time to put it out, but the bridge is currently closed. They’re asking the public for tips and information about this incident.

This morning at 9:54 a.m., Sunday, February 7, Taylor Township Fire and Rescue was dispatched to the A.M. Kennedy and Sons Covered Bridge located on South Baseline Road, approximately two miles south of Bloomfield, for a fire in the bridge.

The first arriving units discovered a fire had been set on one of the structural beams. They were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

An investigation into this incident is ongoing.

As of around noon Sunday, the bridge is closed and will remain closed until further notice.

When the probation department requested an officer search the home of a man on probation for a meth conviction, the man allegedly crushed a glass pipe in his hand and threw it into the toilet, then struggled with the officer, trying to avoid being handcuffed…….. Case Update: When Erik Tosti appeared in Greene Superior Court via two-way video between the jail and the courtroom for an initial hearing on Monday morning, February 1, his bond was set at $30,000 cash in full with no 10 percent allowed. Defense Attorney Tim Shonk was appointed to represent him as a public defender. As of late Tuesday, Tosti had not yet posted bond.
