A new case was filed today against the Linton man arrested last week and accused of selling a stolen truck in a jailhouse transaction. This week he’s accused of failing to show up to serve time on work release.

Jonah Garrett Cooley, 22, Linton, has not posted bond since his last arrest and is still incarcerated in the Greene County Jail where the newest arrest warrant will be served to him.

Cooley is facing a preliminary charge of failure to return to lawful detention, a Level 6 felony. This case was filed and the warrant issued earlier today.

According to Judy Lynn Wininger, the executive director of Greene County Community Corrections, in an earlier case, Cooley was convicted of domestic battery, a Level 6 felony. Part or all of his punishment was a suspended sentence and he was put on probation.

He was then accused of violating the terms of his probation and on January 27, he admitted to the violation. The court revoked his suspended sentence of 120 days and committed him to the work release center, giving him credit for nine days already served.

Cooley was ordered to report to Greene County Community Corrections on January 29 by 9 a.m.

Wininger reported that Cooley failed to show up.
