Sheriff's Department accepting applications for kitchen position

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department is accepting applications for a kitchen position paying $16.77 per hour. Benefits include paid time off, retirement, health care coverage, paid training, tiered pay based on longevity and access to an on-site 24-hour fitness center.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. Candidates must also possess a valid Indiana driver’s license, demonstrate a safe driving record and have a clean criminal history. The hiring process will include interviews, testing and background checks. Applications will be accepted until the vacancies are filled. Those interested in being considered may pick up an application at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.

Additional appointments available for Worthington blood drive Thursday

Community members have another opportunity to donate blood this week after additional appointment times were added to the Worthington Fire Protection Territory's upcoming blood drive. The blood drive, conducted by Versiti Blood Center of Indiana and hosted by the Worthington Fire Protection Territory, will now begin at 2:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, instead of the previously scheduled 3 p.m. start time. The blood drive will take place at the fire station.

Sheriff's Department seeking applicants for dispatcher positions

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department is accepting applications for full-time dispatch positions. The agency is seeking applicants who are at least 21 years old, possess a high school diploma or GED, hold a valid Indiana driver's license with a demonstrated safe driving record and have a clean criminal history. The position offers a starting annual salary of $48,692, or $23.41 per hour. In addition to competitive pay, the sheriff’s department offers a benefits package that includes paid training, paid time off, retirement benefits, healthcare benefits, longevity-based tier pay and access to an on-site 24-hour fitness center.

The Greene County Traffic Safety Partnership to increase impaired driving enforcement ahead of  Labor Day

As summer winds down, The Greene County Traffic Safety Partnership, led by the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, is partnering with the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute (ICJI) to increase patrols and conduct sobriety checkpoints as part of the annual Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over national enforcement campaign, supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The partnership is made up of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, Bloomfield Police Department and Eastern Greene School District Police Department.
