Community members have another opportunity to donate blood this week after additional appointment times were added to the Worthington Fire Protection Territory's upcoming blood drive.

The blood drive, conducted by Versiti Blood Center of Indiana and hosted by the Worthington Fire Protection Territory, will now begin at 2:15 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, instead of the previously scheduled 3 p.m. start time. The blood drive will take place at the fire station.

Organizers announced that five additional appointment slots have been opened between 2:15 and 3 p.m. after the original schedule filled.

Those who have already registered should plan to arrive at their previously scheduled appointment times.

Anyone interested in donating blood during one of the newly available appointment times is encouraged to register as soon as possible. Organizers say the additional openings provide another opportunity for community members to help meet the ongoing need for blood donations.

Appointments can be scheduled through Versiti's online registration system.
