The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Heat Advisory for west central Indiana Wednesday afternoon. Turning hotter beginning Wednesday, with multiple days of above normal temperatures and high dewpoints expected, yielding afternoon heat index values near or above 100 degrees most days. Prolonged exposure to extreme heat can lead to serious health risks, especially for children, seniors, and those with chronic conditions.
