A 47-year-old Solsberry man with a lifetime suspension of his driver’s license was arrested on various charges after operating a dirt bike on a public road in eastern Greene County on Aug. 18. 

A traffic stop initiated on Aug. 18 after the driver crossed the center line and drove on the wrong side of the road resulted in the arrest of two men on drug-related charges. 

A 54-year-old Bloomfield man was arrested Aug. 14 on charges of domestic battery after allegedly striking his father in the face. 

A 22-year-old Odon man was arrested on alcohol-related charges after a one-vehicle accident in the late evening hours of Aug. 11 on County Road 425 South.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has predicted the heat index to be well past 100 degrees in Greene County — and one of the highest in the southern portion of the state — on Thursday and Friday.

A 66-year-old Jasonville man was arrested on Aug. 1 on a warrant for two charges of neglect of a dependant after he allegedly left two juvenile children home alone for nearly five hours with one juvenile attempting to enter someone’s residence. 

The application process for Jail Officers at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department will be opening next week as part of a hiring process hosted by the department.

A 29-year-old Freedom man arrested on a warrant for theft and invasion of privacy on Aug 2 pled guilty Aug. 3 to both charges.

A 29-year-old Lewis man was arrested July 14 on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia after he was found unconscious behind the wheel of a VW Beetle parked partially in the roadway of County Road 200 West, just north of State Road 157 North in Worthington.
