Clyde “Toad” Groomer

Clyde “Toad” Groomer, 81, of Springville, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 15, 2026. Born September 23, 1944, to Clyde and Iva Jean (Sullivan) Groomer, he owned and operated Bloomfield Sales and worked as a paper carrier for the Herald Times. He married Pat in 1970, and together they raised four boys. In his later years, he was loved by Lois Bingham and her children.

Surviving relatives include his sons: Todd (Bobbie) McCabe, Jeff (Jessica) Groomer, Billy (Amber) Groomer, and Tommy (Sarah) Groomer; Lois and her children Cindy, Dan, and Tom; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pat; his brothers Bobby, Delbert, and David; his sister, Lynda and a stepson Mark Bingham.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will be in Hash cemetery in rural Bloomfield.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 1 hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Hospital or to Riley Hospital for Children.
