Sheriff's department responds to fatal accident on I-69

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded Tuesday afternoon to a one-vehicle accident resulting in a fatality on Interstate 69 near the 98-mile marker. 

According to a press release from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, a vehicle driven by Tonya Allgood, 49, of Bloomington, was traveling south on I-69 and left the south side of the road into the median. The vehicle traveled back onto the roadway, overturned, and entered a ditch on the north side of the roadway. Allgood was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead as a result of the accident. A juvenile passenger was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for an evaluation of injuries. 

Greene County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Michael McGough is the investigating officer and was assisted by Greene County Ambulance, Greene County Coroner Office, Eastern Greene Fire Territory, Taylor Township Fire Department, and the Indiana State Police.
