Road closure planned for US 231 near I-69 starting September 27

GREENE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure on US 231 south of Bloomfield. Beginning on or around Tuesday, September 27, US 231 will be closed just north of I-69, nine miles south of Bloomfield. This closure will facilitate five pipe replacement projects. Closures will occur during the daytime, re-opening the roadway in the evening when each pipe project completes. The entire closure will take a week to complete, depending on the weather. During the closure the official detour for motorists is I-69 to State Road 58 to State Road 57 to State Road 54. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure.

The closure is expected to take a week to complete, depending on the weather. The official detour during the project is State Road 58 to State Road 59 to State Road 54. Charges filed today in lawnmower attack case

A dispute over mowing grass in an alley took a turn when a woman on a riding lawnmower floored her mower to go as fast as it would go and intentionally crashed into her neighbor’s riding lawn mower while the neighbor was mowing in the alley. No injuries were reported but charges were filed earlier today against the woman who allegedly admitted she didn’t care if she hit the neighbor head-on.

A 35-year-old Linton man was arrested Aug. 19 following an incident involving domestic battery in the presence of a child less than 16-year-old. He was later arrested Sept. 8 on a warrant issued on a petition to revoke bond in a case involving misdemeanor criminal trespassing from June 2022.

GREENE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces an updated timeline for a project to provide lighting at the interchange of US 231 and I-69. A project at the interchange will add new lighting to this area. This lighting will help to improve safety in the area. The project is expected to begin in late spring of 2023. A change of date was required due to increased lead times on materials. The project is expected to be completed in October of 2023, depending on the weather.

Governor Holcomb also asks businesses and residents statewide to lower their flags to half-staff in remembrance of the victims of the terror attacks on September 11, 2001.
