Megan Marie Dickey, 28, Clay City, was arrested by Deputy Devan Goad of the Greene County Sheriff's Department on Friday, September 2.

Around 9:24 AM that Friday, a person concerned about the welfare of Dickey contacted the sheriff's department and said Dickey was drinking and taking pills, driving a white Honda CRV, and was possibly at a cemetery on East Calvertville Road, rural Bloomfield.

Deputy Bruce Porter was dispatched to the area to try and locate Dickey but did not find her right away. Then when he was sitting in the area of Calvertville Road and Wilson Road around 10:22 AM, he saw the vehicle eastbound on Calvertville Road and reported the vehicle drove off the roadway several times before turning into the cemetery. He activated his emergency lights and followed the vehicle into the cemetery then requested assistance on the scene.

When Deputy Goad, the investigating officer, arrived, the driver was identified as Megan Dickey who had gotten out of her vehicle and was leaning against it as the deputy approached and reported he detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath as well as other signs of impairment.

Dickey failed standard field sobriety test on the scene and was transported to the Greene County Sheriff's Department where she failed again. She agreed to take a certified breath test which showed she had a blood alcohol content of .205. The legal limit is .08.

Deputy Goad noted that Dickey has a prior conviction of operating while intoxicated - she was convicted in Greene County in November of 2015.

Dickey was booked into the Greene County Jail at 11:47 AM with bond set at $8000 surety with 10% cash allowed. She posted $800 and was released on September 3.

Dickey is scheduled to be in Greene Superior Court for her initial hearing on September 15 to face charges of:

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor,

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction within seven years, a Level 6 felony,

  • Operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to .15 or more, a Class A misdemeanor, and
