Governor directs flags to half-staff on Saturday, September 11

INDIANAPOLIS – Governor Eric J. Holcomb is directing flags statewide to be flown at half-staff in honor of Patriot Day. Flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021. Gov. Holcomb also asks businesses and residents to lower their flags to half-staff in remembrance of the victims of the Sept. 11 terror attacks.

UPDATE AT 9:45 PM: LOCATED! ......  GCSD searching for juvenile missing from area near the fairgrounds

UPDATE AT 9:45 PM: LOCATED! Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Camron Frye reports the juvenile has been located.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a runaway juvenile missing from the area of the 4-H Fairgrounds in central Greene County.

Jaelynn L. Collins is a 13-year-old white female, 5’ 3” tall with a thinner build. She has brown/red/blonde hair with a braid. She was last seen wearing a white “Nike” sweatshirt, jeans with tears and a tan ball cap. She has a tattoo of the word “Loyalty” on her upper right shoulder area and a tattoo of a clover on her lower left ankle area.

GCSD Deputy Camron Frye reported Collins was last seen walking north/northeast from the area of State Road 54 and North County Road 475 West.

Deputy Frye is asking anyone who has seen Collins or located her, or knows anything about her whereabouts to please contact the Greene County Sheriff’s Department at 812-384-4411 or call 911 to speak with your nearest law enforcement agency.

Charles Criss has been in prison after he was convicted and sentenced years ago

Charles Elsworth Criss, Jr., 58, Lyons, also known as Chuck or Chucky, has been in prison. He was arrested for child molesting in 2014. In 2015, he was sentenced to eight years and won’t be released from DOC authority until next February, but he was out on parole when he was arrested last week for a parole violation. As of today, he’s in trouble for the violation but he is not facing any new criminal charges.

Wednesday night pursuit reached speeds over 90 mph east of Bloomfield

On Wednesday night, when a driver was stopped east of Bloomfield for speeding, he took off from the traffic stop and led a Bloomfield police officer east on SR 54, passing other vehicles on curves and no-passing zones at speeds over 90 mph. He slid off the road at one point but got back on the road with two busted tires and continued into eastern Greene County where he finally stopped and was taken into custody.

Putnam County - In July of 2021, Indiana State Police Master Trooper Detective Brian Maudlin of the Putnamville State Police Post began an investigation into the former president and treasurer of the Cloverdale Community Youth League. During his investigation it was discovered that both individuals had allegedly deprived the Cloverdale Community Youth League of over $21,848.51.
