When a caller told a dispatcher that a bicycle rider had just threatened him, the dispatcher could hear the rider in the background threatening to blow the caller’s head off.

Theodore James Miller II, 39, Linton, was arrested by Officer Janzen Franklin of the Linton Police Department on Monday, August 22.

In the wee hours that Monday, the sheriff’s department got a call from a man who said another man, later identified as Miller, was on a bicycle headed toward a location in Linton and that Miller had threatened him. Greene County Dispatch said while they were on the phone with the caller, they could hear the man on the bicycle saying he was going to blow the man’s head off.

Officer Franklin was dispatched and on the way, he saw the man on the bicycle and stopped him at K Street SE and 5th Street SE. Miller allegedly said he’d been at a friend’s house then when he was riding down 7th Street SE, he got into an argument with another man.

Miller did not cooperate when being handcuffed and attempted to pull away. He was taken into custody and transported to the police department where he requested an attorney, then transported to the Greene County Jail.

Later when Officer Franklin talked to the caller, he said he saw Miller on his son’s property and he confirmed Miller did say he was going to blow his head off.

Miller was booked in at 2:02 a.m. with bond set at $2,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He posted $200 and was released later in the day.

Miller is scheduled to be in Greene Superior Court for an initial hearing on September 13 on a charge of intimidation, a Class A misdemeanor.
