Michael Kevin Boulanger Jr
Michael Kevin Boulanger, Jr., 47, Linton, was arrested by Officer Alan Jackson of the Linton Police Department early last Saturday, September 4, following an incident that started late Friday, September 3.
Officer Jackson responded to Boulanger’s residence in Linton around 8:48 p.m. because Boulanger wanted a man trespassed from Boulanger’s property. Officer Jackson reported he was invited in to fill out the trespass order but once inside, he said he smelled the odor of marijuana.
When Officer Jackson asked if there was any marijuana in the residence, Boulanger said no. According to Officer Jackson, he said he’d smoked with someone earlier and he agreed to let the officer take a look around.
Officer Jackson reported that while looking into a trash can in a bedroom, he saw green plant material and Boulanger allegedly then offered to show the officer what he had, grabbing a metal tray out of a closet. Officer Jackson reported a glass smoking device with burnt residue was on the tray with more green plant material. Boulanger allegedly admitted these items belonged to him and said that was all he had but the officer saw another smoking device in the closet and Boulanger then said he wanted the search to end.
Officer Jackson requested a search warrant and other officers from the Jasonville Police Department, Greene County Sheriff’s Department and Linton Police Department arrived to assist. Officers reported finding other smoking devices with burnt residues, more green plant material in various containers, and a black metal grinder.
Boulanger was taken into custody and transported to jail where he was booked in at 12:41 a.m. He posted bond and was released.
Boulanger retained an attorney and the defense waived his initial hearing.
Boulanger has been charged with possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
