Indianapolis, Ind. - While there continue to be no known cases of COVID-19 among staff or offenders at Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) facilities, the previously announced suspension of all facility visitations has been expanded to include all facility volunteer staff. This change became effective at 5:00 p.m. March 18, 2020.

A suspect wanted in Greene County for alleged counterfeiting was in jail in Sullivan County when a warrant was issued for his arrest. In Sullivan County, he was also facing a charge of felony counterfeiting. On Monday, Abbott was transported into the Greene County Jail where the local warrant was read to him.

Two free phone calls and one free video visit for offenders at Indiana DOC facilities

Indianapolis, Ind.— Beginning March 18, 2020, to lessen strain on offenders and their loved ones the result the COVID-19 virus, Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) officials worked with the telephone and video service provider to permit each eligible offender the opportunity for two five-minute-long phone calls, as well as one video visit of either 10 or 25 minutes each week and fee free. This agreement runs through April 14, 2020.

Indiana State Police employee tests positive for COVID-19

Indianapolis, IN - A civilian employee of the Indiana State Police has a confirmed diagnosis of the COVID-19 virus. The employee, who is assigned to the State Police’s Laboratory Division in Indianapolis, was admitted to a local hospital for a medical issue. Yesterday, the employee received notice they tested positive for COVID-19 and remains hospitalized at this time.
