Linton woman arrested after search of her home
/After a no-knock search warrant was executed by numerous officers at a home in the Linton area, a warrant was issued for one woman.
Wendy Gail Holcomb, 43, Linton, was arrested by Deputy David Elmore of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department last Thursday afternoon, March 12, as a result of an investigation that started in February.
By late Saturday, February 22, a no-knock search warrant was executed by Deputy Elmore and numerous other officers at Holcomb’s residence located on West County Road 230 North in the Linton area.
They arrived after 11 p.m. with emergency lights on multiple vehicles and over a loudspeaker, ordered everyone in the residence to exit. A couple of people exited through the front door and a couple of people, including Holcomb, exited out the back door.
Deputy Elmore reported the residence was cleared by the Indiana State Police who reported there were indications of a possible methamphetamine lab. Deputy Elmore said when other officers entered, they detected a chemical odor in the air.
Officers allegedly seized digital scales, multiple glass smoking pipes, small plastic bags, multiple clear ziplock bags and multiple containers, all with a white residue of a substance that field-tested positive as methamphetamine.
Holcomb allegedly denied any knowledge of methamphetamine being sold out of her residence.
No information has been released about the other individuals who were there when officers arrived.
The investigation continued and on March 7, a warrant was issued for Holcomb’s arrest on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 felony.
After Holcomb was taken into custody on the warrant, she was being held without bond pending her appearance in Greene Superior Court. As of Monday evening, Holcomb remained in Greene County Jail.
