Man accused of striking girlfriend with a rock

A 45-year-old Gosport man was arrested June 3 after reportedly striking his girlfriend with a rock, attempting to run someone off the road with his semi, and driving while suspended with a prior conviction of driving while suspended within 10 years. Deputy James Carpenter of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report made regarding Rex Nichols at the Worthington Police Department. Carpenter went to Nichols’s place of employment to speak to him about the incident.

Silver Alert re-issued with correction on age as LPD continues to investigate disappearance of Linton woman

A Statewide Silver Alert has been declared. The Linton Police Department is investigating the disappearance of Kendra Odle, a 61 year old white female, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 200 pounds, brown hair with brown eyes, last seen wearing a maroon sweatshirt or a red and black flannel shirt.

Kendra is missing from Linton, Indiana which is 85 miles southwest of Indianapolis and was last seen on April 23, 2022 at 12:30 am. She is believed to be in extreme danger and may require medical assistance.

Results show driver had BAC of .234 after head-on crash with motorcycle

A motorcycle rider suffered multiple broken bones and a severed artery in a head-on collision with an SUV in February on SR 59. The driver of the SUV was suspected of driving in an impaired state and a blood draw was taken. This month the results came back from the Department of Toxicology showing the driver of the SUV had a BAC of .234. He’s been arrested and is facing two Level 5 felonies and three misdemeanors.

State Road 67 closure planned in Greene County for seal coat operations in June

GREENE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure on State Road 67 just north of Switz City. Beginning on or around June 13, State Road 67 will be closed to allow for seal coat operations. This closure will take place beginning at the intersection of SR 67 and SR 54. Crews will perform seal coat operations north on SR 67 to the US 231 intersection. Seal coat work is expected to be completed by the end of June, depending on weather conditions. The official detour for motorists is State Road 54 to US 231.
