Driver found asleep at the wheel last year was taken into custody this morning

After blood tests came back, a warrant was issued almost a year ago for a driver who had been found slumped over the steering wheel at a stop sign. It’s remained outstanding until early this morning when he was taken into custody to face charges.

After a weeks-long investigation, officers of the Greene County Drug Task Force and an investigator from the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office arrested a suspected methamphetamine dealer last August. She was charged with several felonies in two criminal cases and was held in lieu of $100,000 total bond. Her case concluded on May 18 when she was sentenced to prison. She’s now in DOC custody with a projected release date in August of 2029.

Greene County - Last night at approximately 7:30 p.m., Trooper Caleb Garvin responded to the area of the 12000 block of Shady Meadows Drive in Solsberry to assist the Greene County Sheriff Office in locating Gregory L. Johnson, 50 years old from Solsberry, with a trespassing complaint. Johnson was also known to have active warrants for Dealing in Methamphetamine and had just left the area in a gray Volkswagen sedan.
