Convicted sex offender accused of giving incorrect information to registrar

When a man required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life landed in Greene County last year, he registered at the sheriff’s department but allegedly gave incorrect information. Deputies were unable to locate him for months but he was tracked down and arrested. Last Thursday he was charged with a felony.

When a Linton man accused of dealing methamphetamine appeared in court Thursday afternoon, his bond was set at $70,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He had been under investigation by the Greene County Drug Task Force and was arrested when they served a search warrant on a residence in Linton.  A woman who was present when the warrant was executed was also arrested.

When the driver of a stolen vehicle fled from an ISP trooper, the chase was on. Heading north on 67 from Switz City last Wednesday morning, speeds reached 115 mph. When it ended north of the flasher south of Worthington, the lone trooper held the driver on the ground and three passengers in the vehicle until other officers arrived.
