New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023:

Nov. 15, 1:24 PM, Ashley Michelle Chesterfield, 33, was arrested on a warrant for possession of methamphetamine. No bond was allowed. 

Nov. 15, 2:44 PM, Timmy Joe Russell, 45, was arrested on a warrant for a sex offender registration violation. No bond was allowed. 

Nov. 16, 4:20 PM, Donelda Elma Lucielle Sheffler, 25, Linton, was arrested on a preliminary charge of battery resulting in bodily injury. Her bond was set at $1,000 surety with 10% cash allowed. Greene County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Michael Stanley was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
