Harvest season is here. Farm equipment during harvest season could include tractors, combines, grain carts, grain wagons and large trucks hauling agricultural products. These vehicles are wide, sometimes taking up most of the road, and often travel at speeds no greater than 25 mph. Several state agencies have teamed up to promote roadway safety this fall encouraging motorists to watch out and slow down for farm equipment on rural roads this harvest season.

Road closure planned on SR 159 near Pleasantville starting October 3

SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure for State Road 159 near Pleasantville. Beginning on or around Monday, October 3, State Road 159 will be closed two and a half miles south of State Road 54. This closure will allow crews to complete a polymeric bridge deck overlay. The project is expected to take a week to complete, depending on the weather. The official detour is State Road 54 to State Road 59. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure.

The suspect in multiple investigations of auto theft was arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail Tuesday evening after a pursuit that started around 5 p.m. in Greene County and traveled several highways and county roads in Greene, Martin and Daviess counties, involving law enforcement personnel from at least seven different departments. Late Tuesday night, lead investigators Sgt. Jordan Allor of the Greene County Sheriff's Department and Lt.
