Briauna Shey George-Fisher, 26, Switz City, was arrested by Officer Cayden Walker of the Linton Police Department early Tuesday, September 20.

Around 11:45 PM on Monday, September 19, on State Road 54 in Linton, when Officer Walker stopped a white passenger car with a headlight that was not functioning, the car pulled into the Taco Bell parking lot and parked in a parking spot.

During the stop, Officer Walker reported that he detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. George-Fisher was the driver with one passenger on board. LPD Lieutenant Bobby Pierce, who was assisting on the scene, also reported he detected the odor of alcoholic beverages coming from the vehicle but the driver said she had not consumed any alcohol and the reason for the strong odor was due to a drink being spilled in the car.

After taking a portable breath test, George-Fisher allegedly then admitted she had just drank a beer. She did not pass standard field sobriety testing on the scene and was transported to the Linton Police Department for more testing in a controlled environment but did not pass. She agreed to take a chemical test which showed she had an alcohol concentration of .112. The legal limit is .08

George-Fisher was arrested and transported to the Greene County Jail where she was booked in at 1:20 AM with bond set at $4000 surety with 10% cash allowed.

George-Fisher is facing charges of:

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor, and

  • Operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to at least .08 but less than .15, a Class C misdemeanor.

Her initial hearing is scheduled to take place in Greene Superior Court on September 26.
