Sentence includes $4,826 restitution in case of Eastern-Greene football field damage and track hurdle theft

One of the four individuals accused of damaging the football field and stealing track hurdles at Eastern-Greene High School last April was in court this month to admit guilt and be sentenced. In addition to doing some time in jail or work release followed by probation, he’s been ordered to pay $4,826 in restitution to the school.

Jared Turner appeared in Greene Superior Court this morning, Thursday, October 11, for his second initial hearing in less than a week. He was formally charged with the attempted murder of an inmate at the jail. Earlier this week, he was charged with the attempted murder of Todd Bennett.

A Worthington man who just got out of jail less than a month ago, earned a trip back last Thursday. He’s accused of entering a couple’s home taking cash and keys to a truck then taking the truck for a joy ride, mowing down a couple of Main Street trees on the way, leaving ruts and tire marks behind and hitting a parked vehicle before crashing the truck in a field off Terre Haute Road.
