Rural Solsberry man arrested, accused of biting another man in the face
/A warrant for the arrest of a rural Solsberry man accused of biting another man in the face was issued in September. He was arrested last Thursday.
David Aaron Butche, 27, of Solsberry, is facing a preliminary charge of battery resulting in bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor.
The charge stems from an incident that occurred back in late July in the Wilderness Church area of rural Solsberry.
Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Zachary Goad and Det. Shawn Cullison responded after dispatch received a report around 9:18 p.m. on Friday, July 27, that Butche had bitten another man who was a family member.
Deputy Goad said when they arrived, he talked to the injured man who told them that during a conversation with Butche, who was upset, Butche put his arm around him then bit him three or four times. He said he kept trying to push him back but was bitten again before he was able to get away.
Deputy Goad reported the man had lacerations on his face as well as a bruise, and the injury was in the shape of a bite mark.
Other officers arrived on the scene and began looking for Butche who had walked away.
Goad said Butche was found on the front porch of a nearby residence, lying unconscious and unresponsive on concrete.
Butche was transported by ambulance to IU Health Bloomington due to his condition.
An Indiana State Police trooper transported the alleged victim to IU Health Bloomington for treatment of facial injuries.
Following Goad’s investigation, a criminal case was filed against Butche and a summons was issued on August 2 ordering Butche to appear in Greene Superior Court on September 10 for an initial hearing. Butche was a no-show and a warrant was issued.
Butche was arrested last Thursday, October 4 by Det. Cullison, booked in to the Greene County Jail at 6:19 p.m. His bond was set at $5,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed.
Butche did not post bond over the weekend. On Tuesday morning he was still in jail and will be scheduled to appear in court sometime this week.
