Vehicle still driveable after hitting deer early Tuesday

A Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a minor incident early this morning after a Jasonville driver hit a deer. No injuries were reported.

Naomi Derrick, 40, of Jasonville, was driving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata eastbound on County Road 300 North when a deer appeared in her path.

Deputy Terry Wade said this occurred on CR 300N east of State Road 59 around 6:40 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9.

Wade reported the deer entered the roadway and Derrick hit the deer with her vehicle which caused property damage but she was still able to drive the vehicle away from the scene.
