Bulldozer in the Lake: Persistence by Conservation Officers results in charges filed against two suspects

It’s been quite a while since a bulldozer was found submerged in the Thousand Islands Lake at Goose Pond at the end of April, 2017.  The case went unsolved, but Indiana Conservation Officers persisted, and charges were filed against two suspects to end 2018. Warrants for their arrest were issued today.

Jared Turner appeared in Greene Superior Court this morning, Thursday, October 11, for his second initial hearing in less than a week. He was formally charged with the attempted murder of an inmate at the jail. Earlier this week, he was charged with the attempted murder of Todd Bennett.

Part 1 of 3: On Wednesday, October 3, at approximately 5:42 a.m., dispatch at the Linton Police Department received a call from someone who said Todd Bennett had been shot and needed medical attention. At approximately the same time, dispatch at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department received a call from a different person who said Jared Turner had just shot someone. Officers from both departments responded, to two different locations.
