Indiana Department of Health offering surplus COVID test kits and PPE to various agencies

The Indiana Department of Health has a surplus of BinaxNOW test kits that will expire on November 11, as well as large quantities of PPE that are available for order through the Langham Portal. They are offering open ordering to hospitals, long-term care facilities, local health departments, jails, schools, home healthcare, in-home care providers, assisted living facilities, adult day centers, and other healthcare agencies interested in using the kits prior to the expiration date.

GCSD detectives and deputies responded Friday to a battery by baseball bat

Two detectives and at least three deputies responded last Friday to a battery in the Lawrence Hollow area of eastern Greene County where they found a man covered in blood. He said he’d been hit in the head with a baseball bat. During the investigation, another man, who was not named as a suspect or victim in the battery incident, was arrested on drug charges.

Election News: State Rep. Ellington moves to Bloomfield with plans to run for District 45 seat

State Rep. Jeff Ellington changed his voter registration address this week from his That Road home just south of Bloomington to an abandoned brick building in Bloomfield he bought for a bargain price in 2018 to renovate. He and his wife now will be living in District 45, which contains about half of Ellington's former District 62. He intends to run for re-election to the House of Representatives in the district currently represented by House Assistant Majority Whip Bruce Borders.
