Driver without a valid license accused of school bus stop-arm violation

After a school bus stop-arm violation was reported in Worthington this afternoon, a WPD officer located the suspect vehicle and reported the driver did not have a valid license to drive.

Jaymie L. Grubb, 29, of Worthington, was the driver.

WPD Officer Ryan Montgomery said he was notified around 3:32 p.m. today, Thursday, October 21, of a stop-arm violation that was reported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.

The violation, which involved a White River Valley school bus, occurred near the intersection of North Jefferson Street and Union Street in Worthington. The caller described a maroon passenger car.

A vehicle matching the description was reported to be parked in front of the White River Valley Elementary School and Officer Montgomery responded to the school, located the vehicle and identified Grubb as the driver.

Officer Montgomery reported Grubb admitted to passing the stopped school bus, saying she was distracted by her children while she was driving.

A review of Grubb’s driving record showed her Indiana driver’s license is suspended.

Information is being forwarded to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office for a criminal charge of driving while suspended with a prior, and she has received a citation for the stop-arm violation which is an infraction.
