A Linton woman is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court on Sept. 10 for an initial hearing after police allege she was operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

A Worthington man is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court on Sept. 14 for an initial hearing after authorities allege he was operating a vehicle while intoxicated and with a Schedule I or II controlled substance in his system.

As shoppers prepare for the annual Worthington Town-Wide Yard Sales this weekend, the Worthington Police Department is reminding residents and visitors to take extra precautions amid expected high temperatures and increased traffic.

The Linton Water Department will perform critical maintenance related to one of the city’s water towers during the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 8. The work may require the affected area to be isolated, potentially causing a systemwide drop in water pressure. If that occurs, all Linton Water customers will be placed under a precautionary boil advisory. Water samples typically take approximately 24 hours to process. Barring unexpected complications, any advisory issued is expected to be lifted Thursday, Sept. 10. The water department will provide updates throughout the maintenance process.

A Pennsylvania man was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital Tuesday night after a motorcycle crash on U.S. 231 north of Interstate 69 in Greene County.

Indiana State Police are investigating a double-fatal crash that occurred Saturday on Interstate 69 in Greene County. According to the Indiana State Police Bloomington District, troopers responded to a crash involving two fatalities on southbound I-69 near the 93-mile marker. The investigation temporarily closed portions of both northbound and southbound I-69. Both directions of the interstate have now reopened to traffic. Indiana State Police said the investigation is ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department has announced that Interstate 69 southbound at Exit 98 is closed for several hours as of 12:10 p.m. Aug. 29. Drivers are asked to seek an alternate route. No additional information is available at this time.

The Sportsman Pub in Linton is asking customers to help support an area school by donating personal hygiene products. Customers who bring in at least $5 worth of hygiene supplies will receive their choice of one free appetizer: a half order of onion loaf, buffalo chips or mozzarella sticks.

The Linton Fire Department has purchased a LUCAS 3 Chest Compression System with grant funding from the Greene County Foundation. The device is designed to provide consistent, high-quality chest compressions during cardiac arrest emergencies, allowing responders to continue lifesaving efforts while performing other aspects of patient care.

A Coalmont woman appeared in Greene Superior Court on Aug. 26 after her arrest at Shakamak State Park, where authorities allege they found marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a Schedule II controlled substance during a traffic stop.
