The Linton Fire Department responded to 101 calls during August, according to its monthly activity report. The department handled 12 fire calls and 89 emergency medical service calls during the month.
Training activities included hosting Fire Officer I classes and continuing the department’s monthly training program. Firefighters also participated in National Night Out and helped band camp participants beat the summer heat by providing a cooling spray.

Reavia L. DeVore, 87, of Lyons, Indiana, went to Heaven on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at her home, with family by her side. She was born on February 5, 1939, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Edwin Clifford and Edith Josephine (Starkey) Savage. Reavia married the love of her life, Gerald D. DeVore on June 26, 1954.
Sandra E. Clifford, 90, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 9:36 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Autumn Trace, surrounded by the love and presence of her children.
Karen Kay (Sanders) Kelsey, 72, of Odon, Indiana, passed from this life, on Friday, September 11, 2026, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on March 24, 1954, in Linton, Indiana to William Ernest and Patricia Ann (Wright) Sanders. Karen married Randy Kelsey on September 4, 1998.
Ann Blackmore (formerly known as Grace Ann), 84, passed away on July 15, 2026, at Spring Arbor in Albemarle, North Carolina. Born on July 1, 1942, in Norfolk, Virginia, Ann was the daughter of George Vernon Blackmore and Grace Wonner Blackmore, who preceded her in death.
Amos Musselman, 93, of Newberry, Indiana, passed peacefully from this life on September 12, 2026, at his home with family by his side. He was born on October 30, 1932, in Linton, Indiana, to Omar Ernest and Mary Martha (Pennington) Musselman. Amos married the love of his life, Barbara Lee (Gregg) Musselman, on September 28, 1951.
Ginger Frances Anderson Beatty, age 76, of Worthington, Indiana, passed away on September 9, 2026, at Glenburn Senior Living in Linton, Indiana, following a lengthy illness.
Kay C. Sisk, 78, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 1:37 a.m. on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2026, in the emergency room at Greene County General Hospital - a place that held special meaning in her life, where she had served others as a nurse and found great purpose in caring for her community.
Shelley Medlin, 72, of Linton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway. She was born in Arizona on June 22, 1954, and was the daughter of Henry Medlin and Dorothy Medlin (Thomas).
