Linton water maintenance could prompt systemwide boil advisory

The Linton Water Department will perform critical maintenance related to one of the city’s water towers during the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 8.

The work may require the affected area to be isolated, potentially causing a systemwide drop in water pressure. If that occurs, all Linton Water customers will be placed under a precautionary boil advisory.

Water samples typically take approximately 24 hours to process. Barring unexpected complications, any advisory issued is expected to be lifted Thursday, Sept. 10.

The water department will provide updates throughout the maintenance process.
