Read MoreOn December 28, 2025, at approx. 7:30 PM, a severe weather incident occurred across much of the area. As a result of that storm, Linton Police Department and Linton Fire Department were dispatched to an upstairs apartment of a building on S. Main St. where a family of five was reported to be trapped in an apartment with a collapsed roof. Linton PD and FD personnel responded and almost immediately rescued four of the five family members, including three young children. The fifth person was trapped beneath the debris of the collapse, which had to be removed piece by piece. After removal of that debris, the fifth subject was rescued from the collapse as well. All five were transported to Greene County General Hospital for treatment.

Patsy "Pat" Charlene (Chambers) Tribby, 87, of Jasonville, IN passed away on March 12, 2026. Pat was born May 17, 1938, to Charles Webster Chambers and Elizabeth Miller (Jones) Chambers at their home in the community of Jericho, Sullivan County, IN.

Jack Craig Greenwood, 83, of Linton, went home to Heaven on Thursday, March 12, 2026. He was born to Ovid and Juanita (Rice) Greenwood on April 4, 1942, in Linton. He was sad to have to depart, but he is happily reunited with his parents and other family and friends who preceded him into eternity.
Herbert Eugene "Gene" Bailey, age 88, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 2:50 am on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Linton, IN on June 21, 1937. He was the son of Curtis & Elizabeth Lucile (Hopkins) Bailey.
Bob D. Godfrey, 91, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at his home.
Franklin D. Roach, 84, of Linton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 10:42 PM at Greene County General Hospital, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. Born on May 30, 1941, in Linton, he was the son of Clarence and Nora (Shake) Roach and spent his life rooted in the area he proudly called home.
Marie Medlock (96) passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, at Autumn Trace in Linton, IN, with family by her side. She was born on December 11, 1929, in Jordan Village, IN, one of 7 children of Merle and Mary Alice (Newport) Kay.
Joyce L. Strait, age 98, of Newburgh, formerly of her beloved hometown of Worthington, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday morning, March 9, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. Born on April 27, 1927, in Worthington to Waitis L. Rogers, Sr. and Edith (Ball) Rogers, Joyce lived a long, full life rooted in family, faith, and quiet strength.
