Sportsman Pub, other areas damaged in Sunday evening storm

A severe storm that tore through downtown Linton on Sunday evening caused damage in several areas of the community, including the Sportsman Pub, which partially collapsed.

No injuries were reported, as the restaurant was vacant at the time of the collapse, according to the owner.

Emergency personnel are assessing damage to other downtown buildings.

City officials are asking residents to avoid the downtown area until further notice so emergency responders and utility crews can keep roadways and impacted areas clear while they work to restore conditions as quickly as possible.
