Franklin D. Roach
/Franklin D. Roach, 84, of Linton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 10:42 PM at Greene County General Hospital, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. Born on May 30, 1941, in Linton, he was the son of Clarence and Nora (Shake) Roach and spent his life rooted in the area he proudly called home.
Frank was known for his strong work ethic, curiosity, and ability to fix just about anything. As a teenager, he learned the value of hard work while farming alongside his father. Over the years, he built a life centered on providing for his family and serving his community. Many people in Linton remember Frank as the owner of Frank's TV in Linton, where he helped neighbors keep their televisions running and shared friendly conversations across the counter. Throughout his life he held many roles, including working at NSWC Crane, managing Guarantee Auto in Linton, serving as a watchman at General Electric, dispatching for the Linton Police Department, and running his own Frank's Lockout Service. No matter the job, Frank was dependable, resourceful, and always willing to lend a hand.
Beyond work, Frank had a passion for the things that brought him joy and connection. He loved working on cars, tending to his garden, and keeping up with new technology. Music was another love of his life - especially rock music - and some of his favorite memories were taking his kids to concerts and sharing those experiences together. But more than anything, Frank cherished time spent with his family. His greatest pride was the life he built with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Frank was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Linton.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years, Martha A. (Cory) Roach; his children, Veronica Gentry (Ray Osland), Paula Jordan (Craig), Doug Roach, and Janie Bluck (Jess); thirteen grandchildren, Alison Sears, Zachary Waggoner, Amber Waggoner, Matthew Rice, Brittney Greene, Mark Rice, Jaron Goodman, Mitchell Maryfield, Collin Roach, Allec "Flippy" Roach, Acellyn Roach, Dustin Bluck, and Maria Bluck; eleven great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Dorothy Soliday.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Nora Roach; his son, Ryan Roach in 2018; and his brother-in-law, Richard Soliday; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Goodman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Linton, with Father Srinivasa Malaka officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery.
