Worthington sewer, stormwater rates to increase in January

Worthington residents will see an increase on their sewer bills beginning in January as a result of a rate adjustment approved by the Worthington Town Council.

According to Town Clerk-Treasurer Matt Baker, the sewer and stormwater combined rate will increase from 73.25 to 78.85, effective Jan. 1, 2026. The new rate will be reflected on residents’ January 2026 utility bills.

The rate increase stems from the sewer and stormwater rate ordinance approved by the Town Council on Oct. 29, 2024, Baker said. The adjustment is part of the funding plan for the town’s new Wastewater Treatment Plant project.

Baker noted that, based on projections provided by the company that evaluated the project’s financing needs, this increase is expected to be the final rate increase associated with the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Residents with questions about the rate change or who would like additional information are encouraged to contact Baker by email at clerktreasurer@townofworthington.in.gov.
