A routine traffic stop in Linton resulted in the recovery of a stolen firearm and the arrest of a Shelburn man on felony theft charges.

According to police, Stephens was last seen around 10 a.m. on September 26 and last heard from at approximately 1 p.m. the same day. Mary Lou Gouckenour, age 96, of Linton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 3, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Linton on March 7, 1929, the daughter of William and Eva Leona (Hochstetler) Terrell.
Theresa C. Esguerra, age 73, passed away peacefully at 7:00 AM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at her home in Linton, with her devoted husband by her side. Born on February 29, 1952, in Panabo, Davao Norte, Philippines, she was a cherished daughter of Francisco and Leonora (Villaluz) Consolacion. From her earliest days, Theresa was known for her gentle spirit, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to those she loved.
Bruce S. Martindale, 78, of Farmersburg, IN passed away at 9:13 p.m. Friday, November 28, 2025 in Cobblestone Crossings Health Campus surrounded by his loving family.

Sharon J. (Taylor) Jones, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home in Linton, embraced by her devoted family, on Saturday evening, November 22, 2025. Born in Sullivan on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1941, to Marvin E. and Freda A. (Trinkle) Taylor, Sharon radiated kindness and joy throughout her life.
Donald W. "Don" Greenwood, 86, of Linton, passed away peacefully with his family at his side at 1:13 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. Born and raised in Linton to Hubert and Ruth (Berns) Greenwood, Don was proud to call the community his lifelong home.
