Jury finds Worthington man guilty of 14 felony counts involving years of sexual abuse of children

A Worthington man charged with sexually abusing three children over a number of years has been on trial this week in Greene Circuit Court. It began with jury selection on Monday followed by evidence and testimony that wrapped up mid-day Wednesday (today) when the jury went into deliberations. Later today, Wednesday afternoon, they returned to the courtroom with verdicts of guilty on 14 felony counts.

Bloomington, IN- The Indiana State Police Bloomington Post received several complaints today from local citizens reporting a phone scam. ISP receives numerous reports of phone scams each year, but this particular scam has drawn specific attention to the area.

The scammer called local citizens with the Caller ID showing “Indiana State Police” with the “812-332-4411” phone number. The scammer identified himself as an Indiana State Police officer and commenced to tell the citizen that he was the victim of ID theft. The scammer then asked the citizen to go to a local store and obtain a prepaid credit card or gift card; money that would then be used to assist the scammer to clear up this alleged identity theft.

A Jasonville man arrested in June following an incident in Linton was charged with six felony counts involving sexual battery and sexual misconduct with minors. He was out on bond when another allegation was made about an incident of felony child molestation that allegedly occurred in Jasonville more recently. Two warrants were issued and he was arrested last Friday. He’s being held without bond.
