Bloomington troopers seek possible witnesses to incident on I-69 this morning

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana State Police responded to an alleged reckless driving complaint this morning, Wednesday, June 23, 2021, on I-69 in Monroe County. The original call claimed a black Dodge Charger and a black Acura passenger car were traveling south on I-69 around the 124-mile marker around 8:50 am and were driving recklessly in such a manner consistent with drag racing. Troopers immediately responded to the area but were unable to locate either vehicle. Anyone with information on the alleged complaint or who may have dashcam footage is requested and encouraged to call the Indiana State Police Bloomington Post at 812-332-4411. Calls are to be directed to Sergeant Ryan Miller.

Suspect arrested after stolen vehicle was reported to be on I-69 in Greene County

Monroe County - On Saturday, May 8, 2021, at approximately noon, the Indiana State Police Region 3 Dispatch received a call from the Henderson Police Department in Henderson, Kentucky advising that they were investigating a stolen vehicle by a male suspect that took a vehicle for a test drive from a dealership in their jurisdiction and never returned with the vehicle. Further information revealed that the vehicle was a 2019 Chevy Equinox that had Kentucky license plates, and was being driven by a male. Henderson Police also believed the vehicle was currently traveling north on I-69 near the 92-mile marker in Greene County.

The “Take Back” initiative seeks to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft through proper disposal of prescription drugs. Greene County General Hospital, in partnership with the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, is participating and unwanted medications may be dropped off at the hospital on Saturday, April 24, 2021, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Follow the signs to the main lobby entrance, pull up, and deputies and hospital staff will be happy to remove and dispose of the medications.

Monroe County - On Thursday afternoon, April 15, Indiana State Police Sergeant Greg Day of the Bloomington District A.C.E.S. (Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Section) was notified that Lance P. Dawson Jr., 19 years old of South Bend, Indiana, was possibly hiding out in Bloomington. Dawson, who was wanted on an active homicide-murder warrant that was issued on April 7 from St. Joseph County, had been tracked to the emergency room at IU Health Bloomington by utilizing various investigative techniques.
