Fast response by GCSD and DCS results in child’s safety, and warrant for child molestation suspect

A child at-risk was quickly moved out of possible danger thanks to a very fast response by the Greene County Department of Child Services and the Greene County Sheriff’s Department after they received a tip about a child molestation. An investigation followed, and yesterday a warrant was issued for the suspect’s arrest.

Governor Holcomb directs flags to be flown at half-staff on 9-11

INDIANAPOLIS – Governor Eric J. Holcomb is directing flags at state facilities across Indiana to be flown at half-staff in honor of Patriot Day. Flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.  Gov. Holcomb also asks businesses and residents statewide to lower their flags to half-staff in remembrance of the victims of the terror attacks on September 11, 2001.

A father upset over child custody and visitation issues, accused of threatening his ex-wife and others, was summoned to appear in court next Thursday on a charge of intimidation. But before his court date, he was in more trouble for allegedly violating a protective order and was booked in to jail early this morning.

Two men, apparently in need of chocolate, are accused of stealing Milky Ways, M&Ms, Twix and Snickers bars, Reese’s snacks and one king-size 3 Musketeers bar along with soda, a hair brush and a haircutting kit, plus spray paint, from the Dollar General store in Jasonville.

Woman walking in middle of highway carried out of harm’s way by deputies

Last week a couple who lives on State Road 54 in eastern Greene County woke up to their dogs barking and the sound of a car horn. When they checked outside, they discovered a woman they did not know was sitting in one of their vehicles. They called the sheriff’s department.
