A 23-year-old Linton man has been accused of rape, criminal confinement, strangulation and domestic battery. Following an investigation by Detective Paul Clark of the Linton Police Department, Travis Lee Jones was arrested on Sunday, booked in by LPD Officer Nick Yingling around 7:12 p.m.

Suspected meth dealer from Linton still in jail – with a bond set at $100,000

In late April, when an officer attempted a traffic stop on a man suspected of dealing methamphetamine in Greene County, the man refused to stop and fled in his vehicle. When he encountered a couple of state troopers, he rammed into one of their vehicles before driving through a yard and crashing into someone’s porch. He got out and ran, but was apprehended by a trooper in pursuit. He was booked in to the Greene County Jail in late April and he’s still there – his bond is set at $100,000 surety with ten percent allowed. It would take $10,000 cash to bond out.

A rural Springville man, who resides in Blue Sky North, was arrested on Sunday by Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Alan Jackson. A warrant had been issued for his arrest when Barker failed to appear in court for a pre-trial conference last week. The case pending against Barker involves his dog that allegedly had not been immunized against rabies when it bit an REMC lineman.

Four accused in incident involving damage to Eastern-Greene football field, theft of track hurdles

Four individuals are in trouble for allegedly being involved in an incident in which the football field was damaged and track hurdles were stolen at Eastern-Greene High School in April. After an investigation, criminal cases were filed in early May against four suspects - two are juveniles, one has been summoned to court on misdemeanor charges and the fourth was just booked into jail late Thursday evening on felony and misdemeanor charges.

Doctor said baby’s skull looked like ‘a cracked egg shell’; Tosumba Welch agrees to plead guilty; facing possible 20 years

After an unresponsive nine-month-old baby was airlifted to Riley Hospital last August, a doctor told a state police detective the baby’s skull resembled “a cracked egg shell.” The father was arrested for four serious felony counts and has been in Greene County Jail while awaiting his trial date. That date’s been vacated since the defendant agreed to plead guilty and now he’s waiting to be sentenced – he could be facing up to 20 years in prison.

A number of deputies on hand to execute a search warrant at a home on State Road 157 in Bloomfield reported seizing evidence of methamphetamine, marijuana, paraphernalia and one gun. In a later interview, one of the men, who was at the home when officers arrived, admitted some of the items belonged to him and he wanted to know who took the gun.

A Bloomfield man, stopped for a turn signal violation near Owensburg in March, refused to identify himself. Then he said, “I plead the fifth,” before slamming the truck into gear and taking off. The officer pursued down a gravel road then a driveway then through a yard to the edge of a ditch. The truck hesitated but entered the ditch and crossed a small creek - where the patrol car could not go.… He was apprehended last weekend and now has three criminal cases pending. This story is about the second case.
