Criminal charge filed against former LPD officer who was placed on administrative leave in May

A former police officer is facing a criminal charge of false informing as a result of an investigation by the Indiana State Police into allegations that he didn’t tell the truth about the events that led to the arrest of a Linton man in May. Following the incident, the officer was taken off the street and placed on administrative leave by LPD Chief Paul Clark. In addition to the ISP investigation, a special prosecutor was appointed and this week, he filed a criminal case against the officer, and the LPD Chief confirmed the officer is no longer employed by the Linton Police Department.

Injured man facing charges for public intox and battery to officer

After rescue personnel and officers responded to help a Linton man who was injured in a fall, they reported the man reacted with an abusive and threatening attitude, yelling obscenities, resisting, spitting and hitting. They determined he was intoxicated.

ISP is participating in the 8th Annual National "Best Looking Cruiser" Contest

The American Association of State Troopers will be conducting their annual "Best Looking Cruiser" contest for the eighth time. The Georgia State Police cruiser was voted the “2020 Best Looking Cruiser.” This contest began as a friendly competition between state agencies as a fun way to allow community support and interaction with law enforcement in a positive manner. The Indiana State Police submitted a photo that represents the entire state (see photo below). Nothing says Indiana better than a rustic barn in a country setting, with a basketball hoop and a fabulous looking Indiana State Police Cruiser!
