Marilyn Sue Johnson, 72, of Bloomington, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.

Born January 1, 1952 in Muncie, she was the daughter of William Sr. and Essie (Bruce) Shields. She married William Leon Johnson on July 15, 1984. He passed away just hours later on the same day.

Marilyn was a homemaker and attended the Solsberry Methodist Church.

Surviving relatives include: one daughter, Darcy Jolee Johnson of Bloomington; two sons, Bradley Scott Johnson of Owensburg and Brett Johnson of Solsberry; her siblings, Jane Shields, Richard Shields and William Shields Jr.; her grandchildren, Samuel Alan Funkhouser, Harry Russell Funkhouser, Zackery Tyler Johnson, Corey Johnson, Kendrick Johnson, Breanna Johnson, Kayla Johnson, Kasey Johnson and Jesse Johnson; ten great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Robert Johnson and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 am on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Solsberry Cemetery.

Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
