A Switz City man on probation allegedly gunned his vehicle over railroad tracks last Friday night. The vehicle went sideways and crashed and he wound up in jail on OVWI charges. He bonded out but now there’s a warrant out for his arrest for violating the terms of his probation.

A traffic stop last September by a JPD officer on a speeding vehicle resulted in charges for a Bloomfield woman accused of meth possession as well as driving while suspended. A warrant issued in early October has been outstanding but she was arrested last Friday.

INDIANAPOLIS — Today, Gov. Eric J. Holcomb issued a proclamation declaring April as Distracted Driving Awareness Month in Indiana. Now in its 11th year, the national observance is dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers and consequences of distracted driving, as well as reminding motorists about the importance of paying attention to the road. “There’s only one task we should be focused on when behind the wheel and that’s safe driving – everything else can wait,” Gov. Delphi Investigation Reward Fund receives $100,000 donation

The Indiana State Police has received an anonymous donation of $100,000 towards the Delphi Investigation reward fund. This brings the total to $325,000. The reward will be given to anyone who can provide information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the deaths of Abigail Williams and Liberty German.

Since last Thursday, officers from the Worthington Police Department and deputies from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department have been involved in an investigation into a case involving injury to infant. The baby was treated for injuries at Greene County General then transferred to Riley Hospital, and three adults from Worthington were booked into jail on various charges including battery to the child, neglect of a dependent, false informing and incest.

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb signed House Bill 1006 into law on Thursday, April 1. It’s a police reform and training bill supported by both Indiana Democrats and Republicans that includes de-escalation training requirements as well as $70 million for repair and updates to the Indiana Law Enforcement Training Academy.
