Ryan David Little 33, Indianapolis, was transferred into the Greene County Jail from another facility in late March. A warrant had been out for Little’s arrest since September 1, 2020, and while he was in custody in Johnson County, the Greene County warrant was served to him.

Little appeared for his initial hearing in Greene County in mid-February via Zoom connection between the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department and the Greene County Superior Courtroom.

Little’s bond in Greene County was set at $8,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed and after he was transferred here, he posted $800 and was released.

He is scheduled to be back in court on April 12 for a pre-trial conference.

Little has been charged with two counts of theft where the value of the property was between $750 and $50,000. Both counts are Level 6 felonies.

The theft charges were filed last September as a result of an investigation by Deputy Camron Frye of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department into an incident that occurred on August 15, 2020.

On August 15, a man called the sheriff’s department and said Little had taken off in his vehicle and might be headed toward Indianapolis. The man said he was working in the Shady Meadows area with Little and Little had seemed anxious to leave the job. The man said after they loaded all tools into his Jeep Commander, Little took off.

The man used a family member’s phone to make the call because his phone was in the Jeep. A large number of tools were also inside the green Jeep including Skilsaws, Sawsalls and various power tools as well as a ThinkPad laptop.

The Jeep owner said he knew Little needed some money so he brought him along to work on the job but Little was complaining so he decided to stop work so Little would stop whining. The man said when Little left, he peeled the tires on the gravel.

During the course of the investigation, Deputy Frye learned Little had a warrant out for his arrest in Marion County in another case of auto theft that was filed in July 2020.

At some point, Little wound up in jail in Johnson County and possibly Marion County and then was brought to Greene County to face the charges here.
