Bloomfield man booked into jail for allegedly holding knife to woman’s throat

One man was tazed then arrested when officers responded to a domestic situation at a residence on Cold Springs Road in Bloomfield on Monday afternoon. He allegedly had held a knife to a woman’s throat, had broken her phone so she couldn’t call police, then ran from officers when they arrived.

When a Linton man appeared in Greene Superior Court last Thursday, he was charged with six criminal counts connected to an incident in late July. He’s accused of causing a ruckus in a saloon. He allegedly threatened to knock a man’s head off with a beer bottle, knocked over band equipment, called people bad names and spit in a man’s face.

Driver accused of reckless driving, passing a school bus on the right, with children waiting to board

An adult woman and five children were waiting for Sam Floyd’s school bus early one morning. When he stopped, with lights flashing and stop arm extended, the kids started to board. Then with two children and the woman still outside the bus, a white Dodge Ram came from behind and didn’t stop. It went around the bus on the right-hand side. There were no injuries, but the pickup truck driver will be charged with reckless driving.

Get released from jail after serving time for theft. Walk to a store that sells alcohol. Steal a bottle of wine, and a corkscrew. Get arrested, go back to jail. A 26-year-old man accused of those actions is now facing a new charge of theft as a Level 6 felony. Police say a tip on their social media page helped identify the suspect.

Jailer accused of aiding in the sexual misconduct of another jailer

When inappropriate communications between a male jail officer and a female inmate unexpectedly surfaced at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department recently, an immediate investigation was launched, resulting in the termination and arrest of the jailer. He’s accused of having two sexual encounters with the inmate and he’s been charged with two Level 5 felonies. This week, another jailer is accused of aiding in the sexual misconduct incidents. He was arrested yesterday.
