When deputies arrived at an active domestic disturbance in Switz City last Saturday, one man was arrested on three felony charges including domestic battery plus strangulation and criminal confinement.
A lightning strike early this morning, somewhere behind us then another one somewhere in front, rattled the windows and frazzled human nerves. And fried the modem and a few other things. Like a carbon monoxide gas detector with a shrill alarm that kept going off and registered high gas level no matter how many times it was reset with doors open and outside air coming in. Then no internet as modem was dead as a door nail. That’s been the day so far. I want to thank everyone who responded to make sure there was no gas leak. GCSD Deputy Harvey Holt was first to arrive followed by the Worthington Fire Department and then the guys from Community Natural Gas. And thanks go to Sparklight for getting a tech guy out here and replacing the modem today! It’s almost 4 p.m. and I just got the essentials connected to a new network. Rain, rain, go away!
A criminal case was filed against a Worthington man who had been trespassed from another man’s property in the same neighborhood after he walked onto the property to pick up a dog toy.
When a Jasonville driver, whose license was suspended, was pulled over for a non-working headlight late last night, she consented to a search of her vehicle and was taken into custody after officers reportedly found methamphetamine.
After a Worthington man was released from jail last Sunday, he allegedly started drinking and became unruly. Police were called and after he wouldn't stop yelling and charged at a deputy with a clenched fist, he was back behind bars before the day was over.

GreeneStreets will be working short-handed this week, in more ways than one, since our star freelancer will be off to be with family for the week. And Anna’s still working one-handed and looking forward to an appointment with a different hand specialist in April. Safe journeys to all who are traveling.
A Linton teen, who did not have a driver’s license, is accused of reckless driving for going 60 mph in a 20 mph zone when he ran off the road, plowed through a fence and landed in a pond.
An inmate with a criminal case pending had another felony case filed against him earlier this month after he allegedly refused to get out of the shower then threatened several jail officers and deputies.
A Bloomfield man convicted of felony possession of methamphetamine got a pretty good deal with most of his sentence suspended. But he failed to show up at the Greene County Jail to serve the executed part of his sentence and now he's facing a new felony charge and the possibility that his suspended sentence could be revoked.
After a driver with a BAC of .265 was arrested for OVWI, he allegedly said he knew he should not be driving and he pulled off the road and parked his vehicle rather than kill somebody.
