New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday, Aug 3, 2023:

Aug. 2, 9:41 PM, Samantha Le Cassidy, 29, Jasonville, was arrested on a warrant for possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug. No bond was allowed. Greene County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Michael Stanley was the arresting officer. 

Aug. 3, 1:28 AM, William Cole Padgett, 39, Linton, was arrested on preliminary charges of intimidation and possession of a legend drug or precursor. His bond was set at $14,000 surety with 10% cash allowed. Greene County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Michael Stanley was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
